Post-college life took Hillary in a different direction, moving away from what she thought would be her career path in sport psychology to that of another passion, her love of singing. Here, she learned to leverage the power of voice and presence as a stage actress and voice performer.
As a session singer and background vocalist she shared her voice with people like Grammy award-winning gospel artists CeeCee Winans and Yolanda Adams, The Voice winner Leona Lewis, American Idol Winners and Grammy recipients Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood, Broadway star Idina Menzel, Hip-hop Legend LL Cool J and Rock n roll hall of famer Leonard Cohen. As a voice over talent she was the voice for commercial projects for companies such as McDonalds, Mattel, AT&T, and Toyota. In these roles she mastered the ability to utilize voice as a tool of influence and persuasion, and deepened her understanding of psychology and patterns of speech, to establish credibility and motivate others to action.
After more than a decade in the entertainment industry, it was again time for Hillary’s life to take another turn. A time of breaking down all of the identity, security and ideas about success that had defined her. This led to a period of self-reflection and inquiry. During this period Hillary wrote what she now refers to as “her personal thesis.”
Here, she began to bridge the gaps between performance, voice, perception, persuasion, mindset, and psychology to define what it truly means for someone to be in their personal power, and the cost for those who are not. She saw the intrinsic patterns, behaviors, and practices that created successful people from both an inner mindset and outer skillset perspective.
Realizing that her true power and calling was to unlock and empower others, she left the entertainment world and went on to further studies in the psychology of influence, the psychology of body language and Somatic Leadership Coaching, becoming the executive leadership coach specializing in Human Optimization that she is today.
